Climb every mountain - not even to Salzburg yet and we have climbed and climbed and climbed! Mostly to castles of course! We left our lovely castle tower to drive to Mosel River Valley and visited the amazing castle Burg Elz - after quite a steep climb (in the rain, with ONE Umbrella) we were able to visit only part of an inhabited castle that was in a fairy tale setting
Next off to Cochem to - yes - climb up to another castle! Castle Reichsburg was somewhat newer- have been destroyed by fire and rebuilt, it was quite modern, rebuilt circa 1800!
I know I complain too much, I do need the walking after the amazing food We have been eating it is much needed! Bonnie

ReplyDeleteThey in far Western Germany on the Mosel River - one that feeds into the Rhine - south of Koln, north of the Schwarzwald. Off the beaten track - (WWRD!)
